Welcome to the Friends of Rochester Churchfields and Esplanade (FoRCE), a community-driven group dedicated to protecting and enhancing Rochester’s green spaces and river walks. Our mission is to preserve the beauty and biodiversity of these cherished areas while creating welcoming spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Since our founding, we have been at the heart of projects that bring people together, from transforming overgrown beds into vibrant sensory gardens to tackling large-scale clean-ups along the Medway. Every step of the way, our volunteers have made a meaningful impact on the environment and the community.
Every one of our volunteers is different, with varying amounts of time and skills to offer. That’s why we’re so grateful to them all for doing their bit, whether it’s a few hours here and there or a regular commitment. Everyone’s contribution, no matter how big or small, helps us protect and enhance Rochester’s green spaces.
Committee
Our committee members are the backbone of FoRCE, providing leadership, strategic direction, and hands-on support for all our initiatives. From planning projects to managing day-to-day operations, they work tirelessly to make our mission a reality.
The committee also works to ensure good governance. You can find out more about this on our Governance page.
Helpers
Our Helpers take on small but essential roles behind the scenes. Whether it’s site monitoring, admin tasks, leafletting, or assisting with specific projects, they bring valuable skills and commitment that help us achieve our goals.
Volunteers
Our volunteers are the heart of FoRCE. From planting flowers to litter picking and restoring Rochester Pier, they roll up their sleeves and make things happen. Their passion and dedication keep our green spaces thriving.
