Are you passionate about creating habitats for wildlife? Do you want to play a part in transforming Rochester’s green spaces? We’re looking for a Helper to assist with the planning and logistics of our exciting Hathaway Hedge project.

What’s the Hathaway Hedge Project?

The Hathaway Hedge project is an ambitious initiative to create a new wildlife corridor along the boundary of the park and Hathaway Court. By planting native species like hawthorn, hazel, and dog rose, we aim to:

  • Provide essential shelter, food sources, and nesting sites for birds, insects, and small mammals
  • Enhance the natural beauty and biodiversity of the area
  • Address anti-social behaviour by creating a physical barrier

This project is an opportunity to make a tangible difference for Rochester’s wildlife and community.

How You Can Help

As a Helper, you’ll assist with the behind-the-scenes planning that makes this project possible. Your role might include:

  • Helping to source and organise materials and plants
  • Coordinating planting schedules and volunteer sessions
  • Tracking and managing our progress

This is a flexible role that can fit around your availability, with most tasks completed remotely. It’s perfect for someone who wants to contribute in a small way to a meaningful project.

Why Join FoRCE?
